Who's Cookin In Chengdu?

The national day holidays have always had a special place in our hearts here at chengdumusic.com, the heat abates, we all get a few well earned days off and, most importantly, we get to enjoy a few days of quality music. We're happy to report that this year promises to be an extra special one with news of a brand new music, arts and culture festival in the making - Cookin' Chengdu.

The festival is the brainchild of five of Chengdu's most forward thinking venues; Xiong Mao, Hemp House, San Sheng Xiang's Orange Bar, Morning Bar and Lantown and takes place at a superb venue, the Fanmate Art Museum in the Jin Xiang Si Art Zone, South East Chengdu.

The festival will run for two days kicking off on National Day (October 1st) and finishing late in the early hours of October 3rd. Plans are to incorporate 4 separate music areas with bands and Djs flying in from Beijing, Shanghai and afar. In addition, there'll be a smorgasbord of food stalls (cookin right?), a 2nd hand market, a big chill out area, a tattoo parlour and a host of other activities/areas, all yet to be announced.

Here's a quick look at the music areas.

News has it they'll also be a Psy-Trance stage but we didn't manage to get a picture, sorry bout that.

That's all for now. We will be updating this post as soon as we get news of invited guests, time slots and other news so keep checking back and we promise to keep you posted.
