Mode presents Lit City Rave

This coming Sunday the 18th May is a night not to miss for anybody looking to escape the mediocrity of their day to day lives. Hot on the heals of the recent Kode9, Scratcha DVA & Tippa Irie sessions, MODE are proud to present J Cush & Total Freedom from Lit City Trax.

Lit City Trax is the record label owned by J-Cush that's been pushing grime & bass, future house, footwork, juke and a whole host of related styles from dance music's lower bass regions for the last few years. The label released the legendary "Teklife" albums; a collective founded by DJ Rashad (RIP), DJ Spinn and DJ Manny. These releases helped lay the groundwork for the footwork/juke sound being picked up by bigger labels and Djs around the world. See Rashad’s critically acclaimed Double Cup album released on Hyperdub (No 23 in the Pitchfork top 50 albums of 2013).

J-Cush founded Lit City Trax in 2012, releasing music from the likes of DJ Rashad (RIP), Visionist, DJ Marfox and many more.

He's also a member of Future Brown with Nguzunguzu and Fatima Al Qadiri.

Alongside J Cush on Sunday is Total Freedom, an American DJ/producer who releases on Night Slugs' sister label Fade To Mind (owned by respected dj/producer Kingdom).

‘I make environments for humans—fish tanks where fishes can be happy and well fed. Usually this translates into club environments. That's where human beings often turn to when they're looking for immediate satisfaction or an escape from the mediocrity of their day-to-day fish tanks. They want to go to someplace crazy and new; the club is just that for me.’

Total Freedom is an essential member of the LA's label/collective and a Lit City Rave regular, check out some of his recent soundcloud tracks below that have been taking an absolute battering of late.
